Pupil Premium
What is the Pupil Premium Grant?
The aim of the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is to support schools in raising the achievements of the most disadvantaged pupils. At Rivertree Free School we carefully plan strategies to support eligible pupils.
Who is Eligible for Pupil Premium?
The following groups are eligible:
- Pupils who are recorded as eligible for free school meals, or have been recorded as eligible in the past 6 years, including eligible children of families who have no recourse to public funds (NRPF).
- Children looked after by local authorities, referred to as looked-after children
- Children previously looked after by a local authority or other state care, referred to as previously looked-after children
- Service premium is awarded for pupils with a parent serving in the armed forces
Pupil premium is the money that schools are given to help children reach their full potential. If your child has a free school meal, Rivertree Free School will automatically get the Pupil Premium paid to give them extra support.
How do I apply for a free school meal?
The application process is simple and confidential. You can apply online at Free school meals Bedford Borough Council
After submitting your application, you’ll be notified of the decision, and we’ll also be informed. The FSM grant will start from the date of application. Your child will then receive a free school meal every day from the school’s menu.
Alternatively, you can contact a member of our school office staff by calling (01234) 745200 for assistance with the application process.
